The Preppy Look

The Preppy Fashion 2011/12
Preppy fashion style is a clean and neat style that follows the rules of classic matching. The general preppy look is a natural one, without too much makeup, high heels or miniskirts. Most important accessories with this style are: gloves, scarves, cardigans, hair accessories and last but not least, the casual sweater, wrapped around the shoulders.
Love it or hate It., it’s an emerging spring summer 2012 trend. Combined with the all American look, this is casual and just perfect for hanging around. The uniform of polo shirts and chino’s for men and pleated skirts and jeans for girls can seem ubiquitous these days. The streetwise Brit took Ivy League-issued V-neck sweaters and khaki shorts, leather jackets, and stiletto loafers.
If you're one for simple subtleties. A mix of basic solids, plaids, and stripes will give the preppy look a clean and neat classic fashion style. This style become popular in 1950 and then become famous for the people who want to look charming and descent but not snobbery. Preppy fashion style is has some basic principles like neatness, classics and elegance, with deviating from these rules.
A preppy style does not accept any deviation from its most important rules; neatness, class and elegance. For men looking the part means adopting a few staple pieces that help define what it truly means to be preppy. Mixing preppy styles with sports-geared pieces as he does so well, designer Michael Bastian took to a variety of occasions to set autumn/winter men apart.
From evening-inspired wear and a casual ensemble prepped for the slopes, to day to day life. Skinny jeans, rolled up with sneakers, checked shirts and plain tees. So, forget about your casual clothing and replace them by classic, elegant and clean- cut ones. Preppy clothes are made from natural fabrics, such as cotton, wool and cashmere and the colours used are mostly pastels.

70s Eclectic Trendsetter

The Eclectic 70s Look 2012
Whatever your taste in fashion, 2012 is likely to be an inspirational year.  With new cuts and distinctive silhouettes, contrasting bright hues of red, green, yellows and blue and fashion designers' continued love affair with the 70s dresses, 2011 is going to be a memorable year on the fashion radar.
While the vintage look can take on a lot of years this spring it’s going to be the 70s that are going to be out inspiration. The boho look but with a sophisticated style. The emphasis  still being on high waisted trousers, cute blouses with billowing sleeves.
Think sophistication, shimmering fabrics, chiffon and silk lots of fur, long slinky gowns with low necklines and ruffle necklines. There is going to be oversized floral and botanical images, eye catching prints and because you can wear these especially in the spring and summer, stripes and floral in combination.
However, those who invested in 2011's revival of midi length skirts and maxi-length dresses may be relieved to knnow that these where not a one-season wonder. Floor grazing hemlines and calf-length midis are just as much in vogue for spring 2012.
Watch out for gold and black shimmering dresses, sequins and lace and sheer maxi skirts. The peplum waist frill makes a welcome return too, adorning dresses, skirts and tops. There and underlying confidence to this trend, the demure look can be carried off with an air of sexuality and boldness, exotic jewels and stunning wedges and 70s style killer heels.

Winter White

                        White for 2011/12
Winter white as always holds it place this year in fashion. The designers have used winter white alone, to make a soft statement. Adding white to soft creams to bold color, to make a fashion splash this season spring’s white trend is set to be a hot look this season.
Wearing white top to toe may seem a little scary but it’s an easy look to put together, especially when the minimalistic styles are adorned with accessories. If you are a woman that tends to love neutrals, when it comes to fashion then perhaps winter white is one colour that could make you go that transitional step to getting out of the norm. Minimalistic is the key to all white this season of 2011/12 as it’s a fresh and festive colour.
Every fashionista should have a piece of white clothing in their wardrobe, and the 2012 spring and summer pure white trend are injected with new designs. A flowing skirt, lace dress, jeans or soft wide trouser teamed with bold accessories will make you stand out from the crowd, and Versace came up trumps this season.
The pure white dress is perfect for the summer and for work into play; dress down in the day and accessories up in the night. It is fresh, delicate and Viktor & Rolf certainly showed the fashion world that white is the in-new colour.
Everybody needs some purification and to enable fresh beginning from time to time. Shades of white are one of our favourite menswear summer trends. It never dates and always looks fresh. The dream white wardrobe has to be Hermes. This collection was white-on-white at its best; and although some men may shy away from that all-white look, certainly an odd piece of winter white added to a daily outfit is good enough to get out of the sea of dull black and greys.
